Truth be told, I don’t think I missed much as far as the user experience goes. I continued to use Twitter and G+, but let’s be honest here: neither really matter (yet) when it comes to social networks. As much as I’d love for G+ to take the world by storm and become the newest and greatest thing as most things Google do, it just hasn’t. Twitter is too compact. Facebook really has taken the best of both worlds and run with it.

For those that prefer “Circles” on G+ haven’t spent enough time with Facebook’s Lists. They’re really the same thing. You can even post just to a specific list instead of all of Facebook.

G+’s approach is a bit cleaner and less obtrusive. Facebook already has most of my friends/family.

Bottom line: If I moved away from Facebook, I’d miss a lot of what’s going on. So, I’m staying.

Awesome.
A little over a month ago I was driving down Natchez Trace with my wife and two wonderful girls. I was able to teach them the history of the trace and the importance of Indian Mounds. I even explained what a Lock-and-Dam was as we passed by, how it worked, it’s importance and why so many dams were built in the area. Crow’s Neck came up in conversation and I shared some of the things I learned there: Walking in the dark to learn how the eyes adjust; how to start fires; the importance of not wasting food; The harsh impact we can have on the environment even with the simplest of mistakes.

All of these widsoms I learned from you, and so much more: The basics of physics; how not to build a hovercraft. More importantly though, you were one of the few teachers who strongly and emotionally taught us all about the reality that lies on the other side of a graduation cap. Some are here to teach. You were here to build lives.

These ideas and memories will stay with me forever. I will pass them on to my children and to their children as well.

Thank you so much for the heart and soul you gave to us all.

You will be missed, but your legacy with live forever.
